* Effective Affordable Housing Advocacy: Coordinating Local Housing and Planning Documents

Funded by a generous grant from the Bank of America Foundation, WCLP’s upcoming affordable housing advocacy manual will provide an easy to understand, “step by step” guide for navigating a local jurisdiction’s affordable housing planning system. Specifically designed for housing attorneys, non-profit affordable housing developers, community organizers and government staff, this essential guide will give a detailed, substantive overview of the federal and state affordable housing plans utilized by local governments. It will also outline essential tools for advocacy and litigation strategies. Available Fall, 2006.

* A Comprehensive Guide to Foster Care Benefits in California

This new WCLP publication, generously funded by the W. M. Keck Foundation, will serve as an authoritative resource for foster care advocates and foster parents to help them understand the complex interplay of federal, state and local laws impacting foster children and their entitlement to benefits. The guide will translate the intricate network of laws, regulations, policy directives, court cases, administrative decisions, and sub-regulatory materials into plain English so advocates and caregivers can understand how the system should work and identify when errors have been made. Extensively footnoted with relevant sources of authority, it will include copies of the most important regulations and policy directives. Available Fall, 2006.
