TheThird Annual Fair Shake was held on June 8, 2006 at CineSpace in Hollywood.
The evening was hosted by the Advisory Board of WCLP, a group of young
professionals who have joined together to support the mission of WCLP.
The event was created by the Board to introduce their peers to the work
of WCLP and, at the same time, to honor “unsung heroes” who
are making a difference in the lives of the poor. The 2006 honorees were
both unsung (neither had ever been acknowledged for the work they are
doing) and definitely heroes. Ethan Evans is the Executive Director of
the Sacramento Housing Alliance a non-profit coalition promoting quality
affordable housing for lower income households and people who are homeless.
Feature film producer Ruth Stalford has worked tirelessly on behalf of
several organizations including Habitat for Humanity, From the Heart,
Child Abuse Prevention Walk and Family Festival, Schools for Educational
Evaluation and Development, and for the last four years has produced “What
a Pair” an evening of Broadway duets which has raised over $500,000
for breast cancer research. The Fourth Annual Fair Shake is planned for June 2007 (date and details to be announced.)
