Will The State Budget "Trigger" be Pulled

Western Center offers a new resource to help local organizations understand the state's "Trigger" cuts to be made if the Department of Finance finds that state revenue is falling behind projections.


California faces $2 billion in automatic spending cuts to funding for public schools, higher education and a range of state services.  On November 16, 2011, the Legislative Analyst's Office warned of declining tax revenue and a rocky statewide economic outlook that will they believe will result in a budget shortfall that will warrant "trigger cuts" under current law.  For a copy of this report, click here.
