Soon, all CalWORKs grants will be cut by 8%, representing the largest grant cut in state history. Cuts for some children will be even more dire. As of July, 2011, the average CalWORKs grant will represent just 29.1% of the federal poverty level, the lowest level in more than 20 years. This report gives these cuts historical context and exmplains likely impact of the cuts on children.
