The Budget Conference Committee finished hearing public testimony and has begun voting on some items. Wednesday evening the committee voted to eliminate the state agencies, such as the Health and Human Services Agency. The committee has fallen behind its original schedule. They were supposed to hear and vote on education issues Thursday, but got a delayed start and are still on education issues as of Friday afternoon. Health was originally scheduled to be heard Friday, but will instead be Saturday or Monday. The health agenda for the conference committee which lists all the issues the committee will discuss is available at: http://www.senate.ca.gov/ftp/SEN/COMMITTEE/STANDING/BFR/_home/. We still understand that only some of these items will be voted on.
